He was educated in Mexico and Spain and holds law degrees for both countries. He lives and works in both countries as well. Héctor has a wide knowledge and experience on EU, Spanish and Mexican data protection legislation. Over the last 6 years he has worked for several public and private organizations, participating in and coordinating regulatory compliance projects in Spain and Mexico. Currently, he leads the Data Protection and Privacy Practice Area in the boutique law firm Bello, Gallardo, Bonequi y Garcia, S.C. (BGBG).
He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association (Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid), ISMS Forum Spain and APEP (Asociación Profesional Española de Privacidad). Under the coordination of ISMS Forum Spain and its Data Privacy Institute, he has participated to two legal studies about the proposed European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (First Edition, Second Edition).
